they may have been the shortest in recent memory, but they were also the MOST BORING EVER. even though chris rock was funny (though he’ll never get invited back again, is my guess), the show just fell flat on its face for three hours. what the hell was up with beyonce singing every song? how in the hell can jay-z continue to schtupp a woman who sang a duet with josh groban and maintain any street cred at all? i mean, i don’t care about that kind of thing, but presumably he does.
and can someone please find sean penn a sense of humor? the guy’s a great actor, but between the letter he sent stone and parker about team america and his rebuke of chris rock’s funny fuckin’ joke about jude law, he obviously has a very very difficult time with the laughter. you were SPICOLI, dude! SPICOLI! lighten up.
