One of the things that isn’t in the parent handbook is the overwhelming and constant need to come up with new games — no boards, no dice (choking hazards, naturally) — with which to keep your offspring entertained, otherwise the screaming, oh, the screaming.

So here’s this weekend’s entertainment method, though we’ll most likely be on to something new by next weekend. or tomorrow. or, you know, an hour from now:

*and yes, we do actually at times use light bulbs in our house, even though the video evidence would seem to belie that claim. one of these days we’ll get a camera that can “see” in regular daylight.

UPDATE: Okay, I just looked at this here at work and it’s seriously the darkest video ever– it’s worth listening to (to me, at least) just for the amusement value in hearing the boy make noise while I rub my finger over his mouth– ’cause you really can’t SEE that happening — but I’ll try to reshoot in a nonbacklit fashion sometime soon. Though like I mention above, he could totally be over it by the time I get home tonight.
