Just a couple of shots from the budge’s recent birthday. The first comes from Julianna, who caught a great moment –amy and I were holding up Archer’s birthday cupcake and telling him to blow out the candles… and then had to stop him from grabbing at the flame. He kind of looked around at the crowd — it was a crowd, too, over 20 people waiting to see what he would do — and then he turned and blew them out mostly on his own. The whole room erupted in cheering, at which point he joined along…and then people cheered again…and he cheered back:

I don’t know if you can tell in the pic, but amy’s a little teary-eyed here… not only for the landmark he (and we) had just reached but also because of the palpable love in the room that so many people have for our little budge. So to everybody who was there (or who was thinking about us on that day), thanks.

And then came the aftermath:

This was Archer’s first attempt at cupcake eating, and even though not much actually made it into his mouth, I think he was pretty pleased with his utter destruction of the thing. I love the look of (sugar?) shock on his face here.
