The News of the Day

I have more to write about this sometime, but for now, praise whatever god you pray to that the wire has been greenlit (greenlighted?) for its fifth and final season.

if you’re not watching this show already, you must not live near me, as i’ve handed out the dvd set for the first season to just about everybody i know. it’s easily the best thing on TV right now and maybe ever. season four just started on HBO, and the first episode was as good as was to be expected. the producers/writers have been saying for a while that they had a five-year plan for the show, and thankfully we’ll all get to see it through to the end.
